The process of refurbishing includes disassembly, degreasing, cleaning, repairs, adjustments, platen and feed roller reconditioning or replacement, parts replacement, oiling, testing and reassembly with a new ribbon installed. We do not offer "lovingly cleaned" typewriters. Lovingly cleaned is a simple dry brush and oil process that anyone with little to no experience can accomplish. The VTS refurbishing process requires several hands-on hours, specialty tools, professional training and approximately 5 business days to complete a portable typewriter. Office model typewriters require twice as much time. You get what you pay for!
